Every time we get a glimpse at the now-19-year-old Sasha Obama (and it’s rare, y’all), our hearts can’t help but swell with happiness for how she’s thriving. It’s all we ever wanted for both her and older sister Malia Obama as we watched them grow up in the White House, a highly public experience that can be challenging for anyone to go through, let alone a child. But this latest peek at Sasha’s world via another rare TikTok video proves the former first daughter certainly isn’t lacking for confidence — and um, nor should she be. The University of Michigan student is stunning (like, seriously glowing) in this new video, and her dance moves, long acrylic nails, and contagious grin will be living rent-free in our minds for quite some time.

In the video, Sasha’s dancing with who we imagine are college friends, though we know she’s been home with family and taking virtual classes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Maybe this video, in which they’re dancing to “Adderall (Corvette Corvette),” by Popp Hunna.

Our last peek at Sasha was also via a TikTok that quickly went viral. In the previous video, she had been rapping along to a City Girls verse, and while there was plenty of praise, there were also haters trying to shame her for her taste in music, appearance, or assumptions about her social calendar. This time around, Twitter is being vigilant and trying to protect Sasha from any more negativity coming her way. This TikTok is a joyful place — let’s keep it that way.

  • Tiffany Haddish just opened up about her 40-pound weight loss journey.
  • The comedian has been exercising daily and overhauled her diet after she quit smoking.
  • Haddish has been keeping her fans updated about her weight loss progress on Instagram.

Tiffany Haddish turns 41 today—and the comedian is feeling healthier than ever. In a new interview with People, the Girls Trip star revealed she recently lost 40 pounds after making some major lifestyle changes.

Haddish, who previously struggled with homelessness and food insecurity, said she was inspired by the late Olympian Florence Griffith Joyner. “I had this thought in my mind that I want the body of Flo-Jo!” she said.

In a recent Instagram video, Haddish revealed that last year on her birthday, she weighed 182 pounds. But throughout the past several months, the comedian’s hard work has paid off in an inspiring way. “During this COVID period, I’ve lost 40 pounds,” she revealed.

Here’s everything Haddish has shared about her weight loss journey.

1. She quit smoking and hit the gym.

In July 2018, Haddish decided to quit smoking. While kicking the habit is for the best, it’s common for people to gain around five to 10 pounds a month after giving up cigarettes (as the nicotine typically speeds up your metabolism). “I’ve been eating like it ain’t nobody’s business,” she told Ellen DeGeneres in October 2019. “To counteract that, I started working out on the fourth of July.”

She now exercises every day “anywhere from 15 minutes to sometimes two hours,” Haddish told People. “And I try to dance every day for like five to ten minutes. I think that’s really important, too. Make it fun!”

Haddish also told Harper’s Bazaar that she loves group workouts (pre-COVID!), and looks for little ways to move her body during the day. “I prefer to do stairs, like if I’m in a tall building I like to go up and down the stairs,” she said. For extra motivation, she invested in home gym equipment, like kettlebells and a Peloton bike, to ensure she can maintain her fitness routine, she said in an Instagram video.

2. She’s following a personalized weight loss program.

On Instagram, the actress shared a mirror photo saying that she recently started Luther Freeman’s 30 Day Transformation program, which offers personalized fitness and nutrition plans. The program evaluates your body mass index (BMI) and lifestyle, and then makes a custom plan featuring nutrition tips and workouts such as plyometrics, cardio, and strength training.

“Started my @30daytransformationteam program three days ago and look I think I see ABS and my bra getting lose,” Haddish wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of her in a bra and sweats.

3. She loads up on protein and veggies.

Eating a healthy, nutritious diet was key to Haddish’s 40-pound weight loss. “I’ve been eating differently, eating way more vegetables, definitely eating directly out of my garden and just really putting in the work, making sure I sweat every single day and staying up on nutrition,” she told People. “Nutrition is everything.”

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Haddish said she grows strawberries, kale, Swiss chard, celery, and more in her home garden. She loves to throw them together into a juice in the mornings. She also sips on turmeric and ginger tea for a cozy drink while she’s traveling, or load up on eggs with avocado for a more filling breakfast.

For snacks, she usually reaches for fruits, nuts, or pickles (the woman loves pickles). Once lunch and dinner comes around, Haddish prefers to get tons of protein with chicken breast and fish, veggie-rich soups, and nutrient-rich salads.

Quitting smoking, upping your workouts, and overhauling your diet? It’s not easy. Go, Tiffany!
